The New Norm

We are all taking precautions as we are slowly working to get back to our routines. Many places are implementing safety measures and protocols to follow.

But as we move into this new phase of existence, how do we recalibrate internally? What is normal anymore? This uncertain feeling is across the board. This is new for all of us. Remind yourself that as we were “together “ in quarantine, we still stand “together” exploring this uncharted territory. Carry a couple of thoughts with you as you go through this adjustment.

Your mental mindset is key. Brace yourself, things are not the same but that is okay. We are on our way there. Ask yourself how you are feeling about situations and be sure that you are comfortable. Recognize and acknowledge how you feel. Don’t welcome anything that doesn’t feel right with your heart.

Respect your boundaries. Although things are changing, you are always right when you take things at your own pace. Honor yourself where-ever you stand on the new situations that will arise, no matter what is going on around you. Visualize your expectations of what eases your mind. Remind yourself to breathe into every moment.

Take baby steps, moving slowly into situations to cater to yourself. Gather rational thoughts and be careful of anxiety running your life. Nothing is really normal anyways, right? We can do hard things, we can overcome and we will, but only together. Namaste.
