New Beginning

 I’ve always felt there are steps to work through when starting anything new . In my experience there are stages. First and foremost, starting. Actually, just jumping into something new and experiencing it. Seriously, way to go if you have even made it this far. So many people shy away from experiencing this. If you have doubts, tell the thoughts that don’t serve you to kick rocks. Now that we have tried something new, we feel free and rejuvenated. This is the next stage. You feel hyped up and ready for more, nothing can stop this momentum. Ride this high as long as you can! Next we have comfort, you feel good where you are at. Maybe you have already met your goal or gotten super close, but you might begin to feel a bit of stagnant energy in this phase. By now you are into a rut and perhaps lost site of the reason that you started. Boredom begins to set in and this fire has lost its spark. This is around the time when a fall-out occurs. We are done, ready for something else. Maybe our goal is taking too long. Maybe we have a hard time making a new goal and can’t really see much point or purpose.  This is bound to happen at some point. When you get here, take a moment to check yourself. Do a full diagnostic on your mindset. This is when your yoga practice begins off the mat. When things challenge you, instead of cowering away from it, dive in head first. Let yourself be scared for failure or success. Feeling all of these emotions is a gift in itself. Feel and work through these, then push past the mental block and keep going. More likely than not you are overthinking. Keep on keeping on.--
